To promote experiential learning and provide industry exposure to students, Nandkunvarba Mahila College successfully organized an Industrial Visit to AMUL Dairy and AMUL Chocolate Plant, Anand, on 19th July 2025. The visit was specially arranged for BBA students to help them understand the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) sector through live processing units of milk, butter, and chocolates. The visit was arranged at a very affordable registration fee, making it accessible and educational.

Objective of the Visit

The primary goal of this industrial visit was to provide students with practical knowledge about the functioning of India’s leading dairy cooperative and to explore the production and processing systems of essential FMCG products like milk, butter, and chocolates.

Visit to AMUL Dairy – Milk & Butter Processing Unit

The visit began with an interactive session at the AMUL Dairy Milk & Butter Plant. Students got a chance to witness the following:

  • Milk Collection & Quality Testing Procedures
  • Pasteurization and Homogenization Processes
  • Butter Production and Packaging Lines
  • Cold Storage and Distribution Systems

The plant’s technical staff guided the students and explained how AMUL handles large-scale milk processing while maintaining hygiene and quality standards. It gave students an insight into automated machinery, logistics, and production timelines in the FMCG sector.

Visit to AMUL Chocolate Plant

After the dairy visit, students proceeded to the AMUL Chocolate Plant, where they were welcomed with a delightful aroma of cocoa and sweets. The visit included demonstrations of:

  • Raw Material Sourcing and Mixing
  • Chocolate Moulding, Cooling & Wrapping Machines
  • Brand Packaging and Marketing Techniques

The students learned how different varieties of AMUL chocolates are prepared, tested for quality, and packed for national and international markets. The visit helped them understand the importance of branding, packaging, and consumer appeal in the FMCG industry.
