Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)

INTRODUCTION:

The U. G. Centre of Bachelors of Arts was established in year 2009, with the affiliated to Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar. The strength of the U. G. Centre is its unwavering focus on social and personal development specifically on the development of the girls by providing them proper support and opportunities with expert guidance.
The Bachelors of Arts (BA) Course contains four departments in it, Psychology Department, Sociology Department, Gujarati Department and English Department. All departments contain their own activity club and teaching objectives. B.A. department organises various events and festive celebrations under the teams of particular staff members.

To make students aware from the values and norms of society.
To promote teaching and research studies in disciplines of societal relevance.
To provide proper environment for the development of the students.
To make available innumerable opportunities for students’ personal development.

To make them aware for career planning and better life

DURATION:

3 Years Full time course (6 semesters)

ELIGIBILITY:

Any 12th pass student (Arts, Commerce, Science) from GSEB board can apply. Minimum standard for admission as per M.K.B.U. admission rules.

SCOPE for THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT in THE FIELD OF ARTS:

After complition of the graduation degree in Arts, Students can develop her career in the various field as Under:
1. Government Sector : – Get priority in the GPSC class I and II officers, – Public relation officer, – social security officer, – child protection officer, Dowery probation officer, Jail Suprintendent etc.
2. Counselling in Schools and Colleges
3. NGO: Working with different NGO’s as a project and programme officer, Outreach Worker, Researcher, Documentation Officer, Fundraising officer, Trainer etc.
4 .On Contract Base in Government Project: HELPLINE ABHAYAM, 108, POLICE STATION, etc
5. Health Sector: Asa councelor at CIVIL HOSPITAL, ART centres, PHC, Medical Social worker, psychriatric Social Worker etc
6. Journalism: News reporting, scriept writing, columnist…
7. Courses of Master Degrees: MA, MSW, B.Ed.
