Diploma in Fashion Designing(F.D.)

INTRODUCTION:

Department of Fashion Designing of Nandkunvarba Mahila College is the first UGC and University recognized department in the field. The Department of Fashion Designing is affiliated to Maharaja Krishnakumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar. The Fashion Designing Department makes students aware of Art & Design, Pattern Making, Embroidery, Computer Design which are parts of syllabus. It also focuses on craft making, tie and die, portfolio making, personality development and also provides the basics regarding designing kit, and the most important of all- own fashion show. Knowledge regarding different types of homemade ornaments, nutrition, diet etc. in this field is also given to the students. Self Confidence and Body Language which are also additional features of personality are kept in view while designing fashion for peoples. This course was commenced in the month of June, 2018 by the department.

OBJECTIVES:

To make fashion designers sketch and design clothing items and collation.

To make designers work independently or for boutiques.

To develop craft making skill, and creative work.

To make the designers create futuristic designs.

To develop dynamic personality.

To develop Computer Designing Skill and Knowledge.

To develop hand embroidery skills.

To develop captivating dressing style.

To provide a basic design knowledge.

12th pass from any higher secondary board recognized by government
