INTRODUCTION:
The P. G. Center of Social Work was established in year 2010, with the affiliated to Maharaja Krishna kumarsinhji Bhavnagar University, Bhavnagar. The P. G. Center of Social Work has the distinction of being the first institution in Bhavnagar to offer a Master’s Degree in Social Work specially for girls and draws them from different parts of Gujarat. The strength of the P. G. Center is its unwavering focus on social development specifically on the development of the Women, children, vulnerable and backward caste groups, elderly, persons with disability, persons affected by HIV/ AIDS, LGBT communities or those affected by disaster. P.G. Center has been number one in academic excellence and in placements of its students through campus recruitment.
In June, 2013, it started its M. Phil degree in Social Work and in 2016 it introduced a Doctoral Program.

Any GRADUATE (3 years or 6 semesters) from UGC approved University. Minimum standard for admission as per M.K.B.U. admission rules.

SCOPE for THE CAREER DEVELOPMENT in THE FIELD OF SOCIAL WORK:
After completion of the master degree in Social Work, Students can develop their career in the various field such as Under:
1. Government Sector : – Got priority in the GPSC class I and II officers as Labor welfare officer, – Public relation officer, – social security officer, – child protection officer, Dowery probation officer, Jail Superintendent etc.
2. Company: CSR officer, HR officer, Labor Welfare officer etc
3. NGO AND VOS: Working with different NGOs as a project and programme officer, Outreach Worker, Researcher, Documentation Officer, Fundraising officer, Trainer etc.
4 .On Contract Base in Government Project…DRDA, HELPLINE ABHAYAM, 108, POLICE STATION, WASMO, NRLM, WALMI etc.
5. Health Sector: Asa counselor at CIVIL HOSPITAL, ART centers, PHC, Medical Social worker, Psychiatric Social Worker etc.
